On January 21, 1992 my family and I were involved in a head-on collision with a two-time prior DUI offender. Turning the wheel sharply allowed me to space my wife and with my six month old son of serious injuries. However, I suffered the loss of my left eye, 17 fractures to my face and 10 fractures to my jaw. I have had 28 reconstructive surgeries with more to follow. As a result, my family and I personal pain and losses including our home and business. We were financially forced to live in a hotel and kept our groceries in a cooler, praying each day we would not become homeless the next day.

I believe the Lord sent me on a mission to help those families victimized by DUI and to educate the young and the old in the awareness of substance abuse. I believe HE spares my life and my family for this reason. So, I asked you: should a family’s fate be held in the hands of a DUI driver?

Please, let us work together to make a difference.
